SMUDGING
CEREMONY
Fumigation is an ancient ceremony
of spiritual connection
and a powerful method for
cleansing, blessing, and communicating with the
Unseen World.

The smoke purifies spaces from dense energies, removes bacteria and viruses, and transforms
the energy field with remarkable
grace and effectiveness.

Smoke serves as the bridge
between matter and Spirit.
This set will initiate you into the ancestral art of shamanic tradition, where the smoke of sacred plants carries your intentions
and prayers to the heavens.
What is the Fumigation Set?
Sit quietly, turning your focus inward, and allow your intention for
the sacred smoke ritual to take shape.

As you open yourself to this beautiful ceremony, begin preparing your tools.
They represent the five primordial elements, bringing harmony both to
the ceremony and to our lives.

-
The bowl represents WATER, openness, receptivity, the realm of emotions and the heart.

-
Charcoal embodies FIRE, alchemizing dense energy into light, restoring vitality and passion.

-
The feather is AIR, directing the smoke, symbolizing freedom, communication, and mental expansion.

-
The herbal blend stands for EARTH, activating personal power, determination, and integrity; it connects us with our soul’s purpose and opens the heart.

-
The smoke is ETHER, the spirit world and the realm of the soul, bridging earth and sky, mind and heart in this sacred ritual.

How is a Smoke Ceremony conducted?
- Fill the fumigation bowl with sand (the charcoal burns for approx. 40 minutes and will be very hot)
- Light the charcoal and place it on the sand, then wait a few moments
until it is covered in a gray layer of ash
- Put the herb mixture on the charcoal (as much as you can take between
your fingers, or the tip of a teaspoon)
- Direct the smoke where you need it, using the feather: to the chakras, to parts of the body that feel tense or painful, to the objects you wish to purify, activate, charge, or bless
- You can walk around the house or garden with the bowl allowing the smoke to envelop you and free you from all that is heavy and dense, bringing you clarity, purification and new energy
- Or stand over the bowl, letting the smoke rise and purify your entire body from the bottom up
- Remove any burnt residue from the charcoal with a stick before adding new plants
- The ceremony lasts about 40-50 minutes, until the charcoal burns completely. During this time, you alternate adding herbs with time for contemplation or meditation
